The role of the HR Manager is vital to the comprehensive delivery of high quality HR services throughout this world class healthcare institution. The HR Manager is responsible for guiding and managing the day-to-day provision of comprehensive HR services of the HR Business Partner team, primarily responsible for Patient Care Services (Nursing) and other clinical services.
The Manager establishes and maintains working relationships with all levels of! the Hospital management and staff and works with management to proactively address HR issues. The Manager also takes an active role in projects and initiatives in support of his/her customers, the HR department, the hospital and Partners Healthcare System. Works collaboratively with the services of Corporate HR when appropriate (Employee and Labor Relations, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, EAP, Occupational Health) and the Office of General Counsel.
Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Director, responsible for the day-to-day management, development and implementation of the Patient Care Services/Nursing team.
As point person for the team, insures that the hospital and departmental initiatives, programs and projects are coordinated and implemented, as appropriate.
Develops strong partnerships with customers, including our PHS team to understand the department needs, goals and business objectives.
Works with managers and bus! iness leaders to develop and implement departmental strategies aligning! with the hospitalâs overall strategy and mission.
Maintains and measures staff competencies and departmental measurements that support the accomplishment of the Hospitalâs goals and the most effective HR Service Delivery.
Provides management for his/her HR team; responsible for coordinating and implementing HR services ; monitors performance and adherence to established standards and procedures, identifies opportunities for improvement and resolves any discrepancies.
Works closely with others in the BWH HR management team in the administration of the Hospitalâs collective bargaining agreements
Provides consultation and advice to managers and employees regarding employee/labor relations, conflict resolution, and the interpretation of internal policies and practices. Is seen as an expert in employment law and proactively works with departments to ensure compliance with new or evolving employment related legal developments.
B! rings other HR expertise (Compensation, Benefits, OE and Operations) to the table to facilitate solutions and resolutions for departmental issues.
Participates in a variety of projects and programs within HR, Partners and the Hospital

Qualifications
Bachelors Degree required, Masters Preferred.
Solid working knowledge of HR theories, principles, practices and employment laws
5 -8 years progressively more responsible experience.
Ability to manage staff effectively.
Labor experience required, preferably in healthcare.
Ability to interact, influence and negotiate at all levels of the organization.
