Position Summary:
This Position will be responsible for the management and oversight of the School of Nursing Clinical Placement Office. The Director will discover, develop and maintain relationships with clinical partners that assures effective placement of nursing students in the undergraduate and graduate programs. The occupant of this position must work with all potential clinical partners, meeting with staff development personnel and conveying the importance of affiliation with the university and participation in our clinical learning programs. Key responsibilities include Collaboration with School of Nursing Faculty and with the Clinical Placement Program Managers for both undergraduate and graduate programs; and with the School of Nursing-Burlington campus.
The Director will be responsible for recruiting, interviewing and hir! ing undergraduate, part-time clinical instructors for the Unde! rgraduate Program. In addition the Director will work with agencies that employ masterâs prepared nurses, especially nurse practitioners, to expand the cadre of nurses who are willing and qualified to function as preceptors in the graduate program. The Director is responsible for maintenance of the graduate preceptor database as well as planning and offering of recognition programs for preceptors.
The Director will serve as the liaison for administration of the clinical learning program by overall management of the clinical contract process, coordinating contract approval with the nursing faculty, the School of Nursing Deanâs Office, Legal Counsel, and the Treasurerâs Office. The administrator will assure awareness and compliance of all the requirements of affiliating agencies, including health clearances and CORI checks.
Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required. A Masterâs in Nursing, or related field, preferred.
! At least 4 years of experience required, preferably in an administrative or equivalent function. Must have advanced computer skills, particularly with Microsoft Office products. Other database experience and exposure strongly desired. Must possess exemplary interpersonal communication skills, as well as writing and editing ability. Must demonstrate well-developed skills related to organizing, prioritizing, and delegating as appropriate. Flexibility, adaptability, and the ability to manage several initiatives and tasks simultaneously are critical for success.
