This entry level research assistant position will work on research projects as part of the Cardiovascular and Falls Research Team at the Institut! e for Aging Research, Hebrew SeniorLife

- In collaboration with others, carries out research activities on various products/projects.
- Assists with recruitment and retention activities, including recruitment and screening of participants and study sites, speaking in a community setting and making telephone calls to participants and others. Schedules study visits, and arranges transportation for participants if needed through established study procedures.
- Obtains informed consent from research participants, and works col! laboratively with the study team to conduct study procedures.
Strong communication skills (both oral and written) are required.
Must be extremely self-motivated, and detail oriented with excellent problem solving skills.
The ability to work as part of a cohesive team is essential.
- Prepares and present study reports and summaries as directed.
- Maintains familiarity with current scientific literature.
- The above covers the most significant responsibilities of the position. It does not, however, exclude other duties, which would be in conformity with the level of the position. Completes special projects as assigned.
- B.S. degree in scientific discipline, 2-3 years of related research experience. Experience and comfort level with older a! dults strongly preferred.
- Must have an optimistic and positive demeanor, excellent oral and written communication skills, good intuition and able to adapt to changing priorities and display good, sound judgment with a sense of humor.
Must exhibit respect for participant confidentiality, careful attention to details, good organizational skills and ability to follow directions. Must demonstrate flexibility in regards to project demands, ie. Adapting to changes in schedules, coverage gaps, new technologies and unanticipated participant needs
! Must be motivated to learn and flexible to change.
Computer li! teracy required ; experience with Windows, Word, Excel, and databases.
V Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift, pull, and pushing 50 (fifty) pounds.
