General Statement of Duties: Oversee the medical and nursing supports provided within assigned day and residential programs including supervision of assigned RNs and LPNs.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide clinical and administrative oversight to agency programs regarding DPH Medication Administration procedures, protocols and compliance.
2. Review and approve individualized health care plans for medically at risk individuals.
3. Provide supervision and conduct performance appraisals of assigned RNs and LPNs in the day and residential system.
4. Ensure compliance with organizational polic! ies, contracts and funding source requirements as they relate ! to health and safety.
6. Coordinate nursing coverage in all assigned programs.
7. Provide 24-hour on-call on a rotating basis.
8. Develop and review written policies for medical interventions, safeguards and medication administration in conjunction with the Director of Nursing.
10. Coordinate the medical and medication reviews conducted at assigned programs. Ensure identified issues are rectified in a timely manner.
11. Ensure compliance with licensing and accreditation standards as well as local, state and federal regulations relative to the medical areas and medication in assigned programs.
12. Assist in the orientation process for new LPNs and RNs.
13. Provide in-service trainings regarding medication administration and medical supports for direct care, management and nursing staff.
15. Chair monthly nurses meetings as assigned.
17. Perform other related work duties as needed or as assigned by supervisor.
18. Perform duties to refl! ect agency policies and procedures.
19. Execute duties to reflect reasonable safety standards. Universal/standard precautions must be utilized and training obtained in areas that constitute risk.
