Position Summary:
The Sales Associate, Higher Education Sales is responsible for supporting the company's efforts to drive new business in all higher education markets, including public and private community colleges and four year colleges in the U.S. In addition to textbooks, some of the learning materials that require sales associate! support are learning management systems, access codes to web-! content, assessment tools, and customized curriculum. You will perform internet research and data entry, handle inbound sales calls, and follow up with instructors and college professors. Success in this position provides regular advancement opportunities into sales or marketing positions.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the Account Specialists, editorial, marketing to support and drive lead generation through market specific research.
Is the go-to person for account specialists, editorial, IT, marketing and sales with regard to program operations, target opportunities, and pipeline building of assigned product lines.
Assist Account Specialists in researching information needed to sell college level textbooks, training and reference materials, and electronic media.
General administrative responsibilities associated with sales such as processing complimentary book orders (comps) from incoming calls, web site and email reques! ts, assisting marketing with direct mail campaigns, and data entry of customer information into contact database.
Service incoming and outgoing phone and email inquiries from clients and answer questions, process requests, collect prospect data, or direct to the appropriate person.
Conduct market research, and sales tracking, analysis, and reporting as needed.
Take calls from customers and answer questions, process requests, collect prospect data, or direct to the appropriate person.
Populate Lighthouse CRM on a weekly basis and compile reports and create prospect groups.
Required Skills
4-Year college degree with aspirations to become a sales representative.
Previous sales experience desired but not required.
Excellent knowledge of computers and applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, database and web-enabled presentation software. Specific knowledge of customer relations and contact databases! a plus.
Prioritizing and multitasking skills, as well as oral! and written communication skills. Ability to respond to requests with sense of urgency and take imitative as needed.
Career-minded and entrepreneurial individual who can work effectively alone and in a team environment.
