Position Summary
The Materials Specialist maintains the warehouse and stores stock with the Aircraft Maintenance Department in all Material Operations to ensure adequate supply of materials.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform data entry into the computer inventory system to include locating, issuing, receiving, and shipping of materials.

Load aircraft tires, brakes, and related aircraft parts and materials.- Perform inventory audits, inspections, and reconciliations of materials based on direction from leadership.
- Monitor and update stock items, minimum and maximum stock levels, and coordinate stock level adjustments with Aircraft Maintenance, Purchasing, and/or other departments within the Company.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Experience and Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- One (1) year of experience with data entry or inventory management
- Pass and maintain rating and be able to drive forklifts (4 (four) K to 18 (eighteen) K) tugs, trucks, and other vehicles
- Ability to use handheld two way radios, headsets and/or phone
- Ability to work flexible shifts, travel and/or work variable hours including holiday and weekends.
- Successfully pass the Materials and General Maintenance Manual (GMM) training courses
- Successfully pass Hazmat Awareness course
- Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Badge for all Blue Material cities
- Strong interpersonal and listening skills
- Complete fluency in written and spoken English
- Depending on location, may need to acquire and maintain a United States Customs Clearance
- Available for overnight travel (50%)
- Depending on location you may be required to pass an International Air Transport Association (IATA) or Department of Transportation (DOT) approved Hazardous Material Training Course and maintain recurrent training of the course
- Possess and maintain a valid Driver License and a driving record that meets JetBlue Airways’ insurance standards
- Valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States
- Pass a ten (10) year background check and pre-employment drug test
- Legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required, this position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree in aviation, finance, business or related discipline
- One (1) year of warehouse experience
Crewmember Expectations:
- Available to respond on short-notice
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

- Upholding JetBlue’s safety performance metric goals and understanding how they relate to their duties and responsibilities
Equipment:
- Computer and other office equipment
- Inventory Control System, i.e. TRAX
- All types of Ground Support Equipment: trucks, tugs, box truck, forklifts, (all types up to 35K)
- Packing Machine equipment
- Small and large weighing scales
- Part storage system equipment
- Other equipment when needed in support of logistics and aircraft support
Work Environment:
- Work may be outdoors with seasonal weather
- Able to work irregular shifts (i.e, midnight, days, weekends, and holidays)
- Work outdoors on the aircraft ramp side and/or the hangar with elevated noise levels
- Elevated noise levels in terminal area and outdoor conditions
- On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in support of the stations for which they hold responsibilities
Physical Effort:
- Position requires strenuous physical work. Heavy lifting, pushing or pulling of objects up to 100 pounds occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds frequently. (Heavy)
Compensation:
The base pay range for this position begins at $23.81 per hour.
