Amego touches the lives of over 100 families in Massachusetts offering services for both children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorders and other developmental disabilities. We are based in Attleboro, MA, however we are currently expanding in the greater Worcester area as well as north of Boston, as we are currently opening additional programs in Peabody and Methuen. We are also currently expanding our home based ABA programs in various areas in Massachusetts.

POSITION: School Nurse - Children's Services CLASSIFICATION: Hourly Rate
Part Time : 20 - 30 HRS Per Week
INTRODUCTION:
The Nurse i s responsible for providing clinical nursing supports and coordination of all medical services for individual s attending the Children's Program, and! provides training and supervision to program staff. The Nurse! assists the Program Director in the daily operation of the Children's Program and completes all necessary documentation pursuant to the Children's Services regulatory requirements.
PRIMARY DUTIES My initials indicate that I understand and accept these duties as assigned.
Please initial each box Oversee health care services for all program recipients. Coordinate medical services with each recipientâs primary physician when needed.
Member of inter-disciplinary evaluation team. Participates in ongoing interdisciplinary evaluations and review of each recipientâs needs and status.
Assist Program Director in securing necessary referral documentation and program authorizations for each recipient, and in maintaining currency of records on an ongoing basis.
Maintain medical records, health plans, medical recommendations/authorizations and medication information for each program recipient as it pertains to the day habilitation service! plans. Obtain reports and approval of treatment plans from primary physicians; and ensure that records/documentation meets regulatory requirements. Meet or exceed regulatory requirements for CARF and Children's Services programming.
Update monthly progress notes and quarterly reviews. Provide annual nursing assessments for recipientsâ of Children's Service Plans.
Develop and maintain quality assurance program for health care services, delivery and documentation.
Provide training and education to staff and individuals in relevant health care areas, including Safety, Universal Precautions, and others as requested by the Program Director or DHS.
Provide supervision to program staff, additional nursing staff (with future program expansion) and function as therapy liaison person. Interpret medical information for staff and advise program staff of medical issues that may impact on a recipientâs program participation.
Assist Progra! m Director with training, supervising and evaluating assigned staff in ! accordance with agency policy and procedure. Reinforce a team approach, set clear expectations, provide feedback, communication and support to staff and individuals.
Participate in recipientsâ day habilitation service planning and other team meetings, as requested. Effectively communicate with state agency personnel, other service professionals, family members, guardians, etc.
Meet with the Program Director biweekly to address program, staff or individual issues, policy and procedure recommendations. Provide technical support for program operations.
Provide on-site assessment and treatment of individuals, as needed.
Administer medications, as directed by prescriptions, standing orders, etc. Follow all regulatory requirements re: medication administration, security and storage.
Provide assessment of individuals for self medication.
Attend individual medical appointment - as requested by the Program Director or DHS.

Provide consultation/staff training as requested by Program Director or DHS.
Assist program staff in providing direct care/personal care supports to individuals.
Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:
Education: BSN/MSN is preferred, but will be waived in favor of a strong clinical background.
License: Must maintain a current Mass. license as a registered nurse.
Experience: A minimum of five years with areas of concentration in adult acute care, community nursing and/or rehabilitative nursing, administrative experience.
- A! t least five years of nursing experience required. Experience with seve! re population preferred.
