CLINICAL ADJUNCT POSITION- NURSE EDUCATION RN & PN P! ROGRAM: FUNDAMENTALS / MEDICAL/SURGICAL/ PSYCHIATRIC /PEDI! ATRIC/ GERIATRIC, OR MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH NURSING
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Primarily responsible for instructional preparation and teaching of nursing offered at the Associate Degree level in the clinical, and laboratory settings consistent with the philosophy and conceptual framework of the Nurse Education Department and Bunker Hill Community College. Clinical adjunct positions are available in all settings including Fundamentals, Medical/Surgical, Psychiatric, Maternal Child Health or Pediatric Nursing
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Teach Fundamentals, Medical/Surgical, Psychiatric, MCH or Pediatric nursing including physical health assessments, critical thinking, pharmacology, therapeutic communications and clinical skills.
- Provide clinical instruction to nursing students.
- Evaluate student performance in the clinical setting.
- Utilize a variety of appropriate teaching strategies to promote students’ critical th! inking and understanding.
- Develop instructional material consistent with course objectives.
- Use new simulations and computer technologies in the clinical laboratory.
- Refer students to the College’s support resources and services, including tutoring as needed.
- Maintain expertise and currency in the area of teaching responsibility.
- Comply with the duties as stipulated in the Massachusetts Community College Council Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing / Masters preferred.
- Current licensure or eligibility as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts
- Two years full-time experience in Nursing or its equivalent within the last five years
- Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student population
Salary: $920.00 per credit hour
