Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the
Nurse Manager is responsible for the functioning of the
assigned patient! service (s).
This Health Center is home to a staff of 280
multi-lingual and multi-cultural expert clinicians,
medical staff and employees, most of whom reside in the
neighborhoods near teh Dorchester area. This health
center serves more than 100,000 client contacts each
year.
This Health Center is a Federally Qualified Health
Center (FQHC) and receives federal support through its
designation as a Section 330 community health center.
They are the principal option for affordable, high
quality, primary and preventive care in one of Bostonâs
poorest and most vulnerable communities. They provide
comprehensive services including primary care, urgent
care, dental care, eye care, behavioral health, public
health, fiscal health, fitness/wellness programming and
youth programming. We serve over 100,000 patients per
year.
Clinical services include:
- Primary care (Family Medicine, Interna! l Medicine,
WIC office)
- Pharmacy
- Full service laboratory
- Diagnostic care (X-ray, mammography, and radiology)
and vision into reality through the design and provision
of a quality, integrated service combined with fiscal
accountability. While primarily responsible for the
operational effectiveness and efficiency of the
department (s), the Nurse Manager demonstrates an
awareness of additional internal and external forces
impacting care and resources at the point-of service as
well as across the care continuum. A commitment to
clinical excellence is demonstrated through
participation in and support of performance improvement
and the Medical Hom! e initiatives, the consistent
implementation of clinical standards of care and
practice, and through professional development for self
and staff. This position supervises the nursing staff,
medical assistants and ancillary staff as appropriate.
Qualifications:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, current
Massachusetts license, CPR certified. Prefer three to
five years demonstrated successful recent acute care
management experience including team development and
implementation of performance improvement initiatives. A
willingness to devote time and a commitment to be
proactive in supporting the organizationâs goals and for
developing and achieving specific unit goals. Bachelorâs
degree in Nursing (or demonstrate progress towards
attainment). Preferred advanced degree in Nursing or
Health Care Management and/or certification, ACLS, PALS.
