The Nursing Director for the Pre Admission Testing Area and Center for Perioperative Care is responsible for a approximately 80 FTE'! s which includes a Clinical Nurse Specialist and an Operations Manager. The Nursing Director is a member of the Perioperative Services Leadership Team and works in partnership with physician medical director colleagues in the clinical oversight of the units.
The Pre Admission Testing Area (PATA), sees approximately 60 patients a day from 3 days to one month before surgery. Patients are seen by an interdisciplinary team consisting of MD's, NP's, Residents, RN's, PCA's-Patient Care Associates and OA's-Operations Assistants that are assessing the patient prior to their day of surgery. PATA also consists of a Nurse Phone Screening Program where 4-6 nurses daily are calling patients at home to complete their preoperative assessment.
The Center for Perioperative Care (CPC), sees approximately 160-200 adult and pediatric patients a day. This is where patients who are coming in from home check in, are seen by a nurse and prepared for surgery, some Radiology procedures and E! CT. Patients who are going home after their surgery come back ! to this area where they are reunited with family members and are discharged.
Qualifications
Bachelor's and Master's degrees (one of which must be in Nursing)
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
The ideal candidate will preferentially hold previous management experience but must demonstrate leadership qualities including:
