DEFINITION

Under direct supervision, this position will support and assist the MAAC Electric Vehicle Access Program, and program support staff, to identify, develop, and implement strategies to ensure moderate to low-income community members have equitable access to clean vehicle ownership. The incumbent will participate as a member of a transdisciplinary care and case coordination team and will engage in monitoring and offering support to help ensure successful implementation of the MAAC electric vehicle adoption model. Supportive interactions will include providing support for outreach efforts; applying for EV incentives and rebates to community members; providing education, coaching, and referrals to internal and external community resources; performing other related duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilizes a relationship and strengths-based, participant-cnetered framework to engage in and deliver case management services
  • Reviews participant files and other record-keeping systems to identify needs and develop and implement supportive strategies; provides ongoing and responsive assistance.
  • Develops and provides training and technical assistance to staff, interns and/or volunteers in electric vehicle education, financial education, and participant-centered design.
  • Maintains knowledge of available community resources necessary to address LMI community member needs and makes appropriate referrals ensuring successful linkages.
  • Assists program staff to increase their knowledge in the program referral process.
  • Provides guidance (i.e., coaching - training and technical assistance) to other community-based organizations, other involved staff, and advocates for electric vehicle adoption in low-income communities.
  • Engages in and promotes reflective practice opportunities to enhance positive family connections program staff.
  • Ensures proper record-keeping, maintaining progress notes and file documentation of contacts and efforts.
  • Utilizes Salesforce data management system; actively monitors Salesforce reports and follows up to ensure compliance.
  • Participates and attends meetings, training, and conferences, as needed.
  • Assists with application assistance clinics.
  • Conducts and/or assists with outreach efforts around San Diego County
  • Assists with the coordination of workshops and networking events.
  • Guides and promotes strategies for equitable access to electric vehicle adoption.
  • Participates in the coordination and facilitation of education workshops.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Knowledge of:

  • Modern theories, methods, and practices of relationship-based work and adult learning modalities.
  • Demonstrated computer skills, including Internet operations and Microsoft Office Suite applications.

Ability to:

  • Effectively engage community members and volunteers, building upon their strengths and internal motivation.
  • Troubleshoot basic problems and prepare comprehensive reports to support targeted interventions.
  • Work with management, peers, and other Family Asset Building team members.
  • Develop and maintain strong community relations and positive interpersonal relations.
  • Organize records and paperwork processes and consistently demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Prepare and present reports, training plans, and workshops.
  • Consistently relate effectively with program participants, staff, and community-based organizations.
  • Able to work on Saturdays. Notification will be given at least two weeks in advance EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION
  • Two (2) years post-secondary education and/or experience in clerical/office, social services, or comparable work providing direct services to low-income community members of diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Two years providing direct services to low-income community members preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, and databases such as Salesforce
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking, reading, and writing preferred.

HEALTH STATUS

Must have a physical examination, TB clearance and a drug screen by a doctor/clinic designated by MAAC as well as immunization records for influenza*, pertussis and measles as required by state and federal regulations prior to the first day of employment.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this class, an employee is regularly required to stand, walk and sit, talk or hear both in person and by telephone, uses hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls, reach with hands and arms. An employee also is regularly required to stoop, kneel, bend, crouch or crawl, climb or balance and lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, color vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Mental Demands

While performing the duties of this class, the employee is regularly required to use written and oral communication skills; read and interpret information; analyze and solve problems; observe and interpret people and situations; use basic math; learn and apply new information or skills; work under intensive deadlines and interact with MAAC management, administrators, staff, teachers, parents, family members, children and others encountered in the course of work.

BACKGROUND CLEARANCE

All positions are subject to a background/education check, DMV check, NSOR, exclusion and debarment checks prior to hire and periodically throughout employment as required by various funding sources.

Note: California Start law requires background criminal checks on anyone who works in a licensed childcare facility who is not a client. Must have or obtain a current criminal background check clearance, signed criminal record statement, and signed Acknowledgement to Report Child Abuse form prior to the first day of employment.

TRANSPORTATION

Must have and maintain a valid California Driver’s License, daily use of a personal, insured vehicle, and have and maintain a motor vehicle driving record acceptable to MAAC’s insurance carrier. Incumbents will be enrolled in the California DMV Pull Program.
