A Day In The Life of a Quality Inspector III
As a Quality Inspector III, you will be responsible for the inspection of components, subassemblies, and finished products. You should be able to determine the proper sampling plans based on Component Specifications, Inspection Plans, or Customer supplied requirements and must be able to work independently with minimal guidance. You must be able to work well in teams, both intra and inter-department, as a leader and contributor.
Essential Duties of The Quality Inspector III
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections of in-process and finished components, subassemblies, and products;
- Provide input for inspection methods and improvements related to the job;
- Assist Quality and Engineering in investigations of process-related quality issues;
- Write non-conforming materials reports when required and be familiar with the process of quarantining products that have been rejected by QA;
- Provide samples and communication to QA and Production Management concerning quality issues when required;
- Organizes work and storage areas for efficient workflow and to showcase the quality of work in the facility;
- Uses statistical analysis to determine the correct sampling plan/frequency to ensure valid inspection plans;
- Completes accurate records in order to provide excellent results and improvements. Records include inspection reports, training records, equipment maintenance logs, and corrective action reports;
- Develop and improve standard work to support both customer and supplier inspections, including quotes, understanding customer expectations, and results reporting;
- Understanding and knowledge of the use of basic inspection tools;
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills;
- Detail-oriented, able to stay on task, and self-motivated; Conduct internal department audits;
- Be compliant with safety procedures and policies
- High school diploma or GED; Certification in precision inspection and other related disciplines helpful; 3-5 years of related experience;
- Manage time efficiently; have good planning and organizational skills; be able to apply good decision-making skills; read/write English; good mathematical skills including geometry; familiar with Microsoft Office Suite; familiar with ISO-9001 or similar quality system; familiar with FAA regulations; have good GD&T skills; a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
