The Center for Global Health integrates research, education a! nd front-line medical care to prevent avoidable deaths and alleviate the pain and mental anguish resulting from disease, natural disasters and war. The MGH MUST Research Program is located in Mbarara, Uganda (population 83,700), approximately 265 kilometers (about a 5 hours drive) southwest of Kampala the capital city of Uganda. The Research Program is a partnership between MGH, Mbarara Regional Referral Hospital, and Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST). This is a dynamic research and clinical care environment, hosting numerous international trainees, clinicians, and investigators every year.
Job Description
Reporting to and under general super! vision of the MGH MUST ResearchProgram Director, the Internati! onal Office/Program Manager will play an integral role in the programâs growth and development. The position will assist the Program Director in creating efficient and effective systems that support the management of daily operations including international research projects, medical teaching activities and logistical support for visitors.
With direction from the Program Director, this position will develop programs, mentor on-site personnel, perform gap analysis, act as the liaison between Boston and Uganda employees and support our disaster response program in Uganda. In addition, the position will oversee the day-to-day planning and coordination of the Directorâs appointments, including international and domestic travel to ensure efficient and effective use of time.
Requirements
This position requires a Bachelorâs degree. International work experience is also preferred.

Ability to effectively engage, influence and interact with diverse groups including: laboratory, and research staff. senior and junior investigators at MUST, MGH, other international universities and hospitals; health care providers (physicians, nurses, counselors, village health team workers); people living with HIV; people living in extreme poverty
