Responsibilities: GENERAL SUMMARY: The Senior Project Manager's major responsibili! ties include (1) providing comprehensive project management; (2) analyzing and organizing qualitative and quantitative clinical, financial and administrative data; (3) managing various quality assurance, revenue enhancement and cost reduction teams and projects, and; (4) coordinating a variety of complex and confidential special projects.(5) Overseeing and directing the work of Project Managers.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS : Reports to the Manager Revenue Operations
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Serves as the Senior Project Manager for compliance, revenue, systems and process issues across hospital departments, including ambulatory practices.

  • Provide financial analysis to assist with reimbursement projections and appropriate DRG assessment.
  • Lead projects that impact revenue cycle workflow and require coordination of processes and systems to ensure fully functioning revenue cycle.
  • Provide high level financial analysis and p! repare complex business plans for program development and syst! ems improvement initiatives.
  • Provide inter-institutional coordination and processes that will ensure accurate and compliant billing between hospital institutions.
  • Provide information necessary for monitoring quality assurance programs, which include compliance with all quality standards and guidelines for clinical operations.
  • Direct and manages projects on behalf of department Director and other management staff.
  • Acts in capacity of Director/Manager as staff representative on internal and external committees or task force as needed.
  • Collects, organizes and summarizes materials for presentations by the Director and Management Team.
  • Deals with projects and issues that are significant, sensitive, political and confidential in nature.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor's degree in business information systems, public or health management or the sciences preferred. !
  • Exceptional judgment and discretion in interacting with physicians and senior management on sensitive political and confidential issues.
  • Healthcare experience preferred with 5-7 years of work experience and knowledge of current issues in the healthcare environment.
  • Project Management training.
  • Data management and information system experience.
  • Knowledge and application of statistical analyses including financial variance analysis and statistical significance.
  • Proficiency in systems and applications including Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint and other database management software.
MINIMUM SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS: • Requires ability to work effectively with physician, nursing, secretarial and ancillary staff
  • Strong communications and organizational skills
  • Ability to focus detailed concentrated effort to multiple projects and prioritize as necessary.
  • Ability to! effectively respond to time sensitive issues.
  • Demonstrated ab! ility to manage a busy office environment within the context of a large medical center and health care delivery system.
  • A high degree of social facility in obtaining cooperation and support from a broad range of people.
  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
