Position Summary:
The Associate Photo Research position is responsible for the tracking of photos and permissions for multiple projects along with the research, acquisition, storage, and retrieval of photo assets within budget goals for use in Jones and Bartlett products,including print and electronic me! dia. The selected candidate will also assist with the day-to-d! ay duties of the photo research department.
Responsibilities:
Work with Production, Editorial, Design, and Marketing to complete research and database management for an assigned project. Assist in the projection of estimated costs associated with photo procurement.
Identify and develop specifications for books and other materials with a high need for photo research.
Research sources for the best images to fit within budget guidelines.
Order scans from image providers and download files. Enter and arrange metadata.
Purchase images as necessary for use globally within the company.
Order invoices and maintain permissions.
Track permission and research status for multiple projects.
Assist with the archiving and storage of files in a Digital Asset Management Systems, including keywords, file storage and retrieval, and daily organization of files.
Assist employees in search and retrieval o! f company owned assets (along with the DAM).
Required Skills
4 year college or equivalent preferred.
Technically knowledgeable in Photoshop, Illustrator, and Internet searches.
Demonstrate creative problem solving (though not a design position).
Prioritizing skills necessary along with the ability to manage several projects concurrently.
Have the ability to work effectively under pressure.
Communication skills and ability to work with multiple people in a variety of functions.
Research skills. Negotiating skills. Organizational skills a must. egree or equivalent preferred.
Experience with photo research and/or textbook production process helpful.
