Job Summary: Provides quality nursing care to patients within Diagnostic Imaging Services , which in! cludes Radiology, Cardiology/CV Lab, CT, MRI, Nuclear Medicine and Ultrasound. Assesses and monitors patient condition and initiates appropriate nursing interventions. Monitors patient vital signs, starts I.V.’s, assist physicians with biopsy procedures, administers adjunct medications, administers sedation , administers contrast media, provides patient education and patient preps. Obtains patient clinical history, respond to untoward events. Insures that the D.I.S. code carts have the required supplies at all times and that sterile items are appropriately dated. Makes clinical rounds at periodic intervals to determine status of patients within D.I.S. Records physician orders and documents/charts pertinent notes/comments on patient charts and forms. Provides in service education on specialty topics to D.I.S. staff and students. Participates in hospital, department and nursing committees. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor c! omplementary to medical ethics. Provides appropriate patient c! are ( newborn, infant, child, adolescent, adult, geriatric) and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
Responsibilities: He/she functions as a member of a multidisciplinary team to achieve outcomes consistent with the comprehensive plan of care. The RN participates in activities to achieve clinical, financial and organizational outcomes.
Qualifications: BSN preferred, MA RN license and BLS for all areas. Specialty certifications may be required.
