ORGANIZATIONAL/PROGRAM BACKGROUND
Central City Neighborhood Partners (CCNP) was established in 1994 and incorporated as a formal non-profit collaborative in 2000 to address the socio-economic conditions impacting low-income families
living in the Central City, Westlake and Pico-Union communities. With the mission of catalyzing partnerships to systemically address the multiple challenges facing low-income families, CCNP works with its partners to help families create pathways to financial security and economic opportunity through our FamilySource Center (FSC) program.
Position Overview
The Child Watch Coordinator will oversee CCNP’s child watch program and provide direct assistance to families with young children to ensure FSC customers can participate in FSC appointments and events. The Child Watch Coordinator will be responsible for the supervision, risk management, and injury prevention of all participating youth and plan age-appropriate activities/ games for the youth. The Child Watch Coordinator is responsible for coordinating with the FSC Program manager for FSC activities and services for FSC customers as well as working closely with the FSC team to ensure all program services and outcomes are being met.
Child Watch Coordinator: will perform a broad range of duties spanning the full employment cycle, including, but not limited to providing expert counsel, support, and/or monitoring of the following:
Monitors room access by properly documenting daily sign in/out sheets
Ensuring a safe and sanitized environment for all in designated rooms
Familiarize families with the services coordination strategy, the visioning process of client goal-setting, and program expectations
Maintain appropriate documentation to track families’ program participation
Maintain up-to-date files and complete documentation in all client files as needed, including documentation of all meetings, referrals, and supportive services delivered
Engage with all members, participants, and parents to build strong relationship towards the advancement of CCNP
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Excellent work ethic and ability to work under pressure, address multiple priorities, and meet deadlines;
Excellent organizational and time management skills,
Culturally competent in working with the public and individuals with various cultural and economic backgrounds and abilities;
Friendly, dependable, and flexible team player with the ability to use tact and diplomacy in communication and adapt to changes in a busy work environment; and
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with limited supervision, with diverse groups including immigrants, coalitions, public officials, and media;
Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills required; ability to use tact and diplomacy in communication
The ability to read, write and speak in English and Spanish is required, given that many of the targeted families are monolingual in Spanish.
Operational knowledge of the Internet and web-related technologies; Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint); Windows Operating System, Zoom.
Ability to manage databases and reporting systems in order to produce a variety of written reports
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
High School Graduate or Equivalent + currently enrolled and going to college
1 year of experience working with youth
