Master's degree is required Licensure Required Experience is required The Professional Development Manager (PDM) is responsible for establishing an environment for nursing clinical staff that facilitates professional growth, role competency and proficiency utilizing evidence based practice. The PDM is responsible for and accountable for the professional and clinical outcomes for all assigned staff and patient outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Orientation: develops, coordinates, facilitates, conducts and evaluates orientation program and innovative learning approaches for staff
Competency programs: accountable for competence and achievement of staff through planning, collaborations, coaching, and counseling
In service education: develops, coordinates, facilitates, conducts and evaluates in-service programs for all staff in assigned practice areas
Continuing education: creates, manages, implements, coordinates, and evaluates continuing education
Career development and role transition: assists staff in career development, role transition, guides process of goal setting
Academic Partnership; may serve as an academic liaison or adjunct faculty
Outcomes management: ensures excellence in outcomes for all quality, safety, patient experience metrics and regulatory requirements
Leadership: serve as a highly visible leader and role model in the development and attainment of hospital and unit service line mission and goals
Requirements:
Prior Clinicial Nurse Specialist and leadership experience required; specialty certifications strongly preferred
Master's degree in nursing or equivalent
Current MA RN Licensure
2-3 years of experience including the designated Patient Population
