The T.N.A. assists with patient care delivered to an assigned group of patients under the direct supervision of an RN and wil! l share responsibility for patient care with assigned team members. The primary responsibility will be focused on performing diagnostic or therapeutic tasks and procedures for which they have been trained, i.e., EKG, phlebotomy.
Qualifications
SKILLS
Ability to read, write and perform simple arithmetic calculations in English required. Demonstrated proficiency in English verbal and written communication skills. Good interpersonal skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with a diverse group of people. Excellent assessment and clinical skills, and other specialized training will be provided and documented within the employee's personnel file. Medical terminology knowledge. Computer data entry experience.
EXPERIENCE
Requires 1 year of Nursing Assistant or C.N.A. experience or a nursing student who has completed a clinical rotation.
LICENSURE REQUIRED
Successful completion of Certified Nurse Assistant p! rogram is preferred
EDUCATION
Requires compl! etion of training in Phlebotomy and EKG training, or a Medical Assistant certificate program or a Nursing student who has completed basic medical/surgical training. High School Education or equivalent preferred
