Part time 8-12hr/week position in Center for Health & Wellness to cover maternity leave for the Fall 2012 academic semester. (September- mid December)
The RD will provide direct patient care in nutrition counseling model to students inclusive of comprehensive diet and medical history with counseling as primary focus.
RD will be a member of Nurse Practitioner directed student health center and will see students in scheduled appointments, provide consultation to staff, Athletics and disability services. The RD works closely with the Aramark dining manager for students with defined dietary requirements.
Primary Duties, Responsibilites, and Tasks
Assess the health and nutritional status of individuals by obtaining health and nutritional histories
Evaluate and treat nutritional problems.
Care for students experiencing nutrition related illnesses, nutritional conditions inclusive of eating disorders, and chronic disease by managing therapeutic regimens and prescribing therapies and or referrals when necessary.
Evaluating appropriate level of care for students w/ eating disorders
Consultation with the supervising MD/ Advance Practice Clinicians (APC’s,Emerson College Counseling Center ( ECCC ) and Athletic department as appropriate.
Provide nutritional development and educational outreach programs within the college community.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)
Graduate of CADE approved program w/BA or BS in Nutrition
Registered Dietician Commonwealth of MA- LDN
Demonstrated skill with assessment and management of clients as member of eating disorder treatment team.
Oral & written presentation skills, power point, group counseling/education
Preferred/Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and Education (including hardware, software, and equipment)
MS in Nutrition from CADE approved institution
ADA Certification in Sports Nutrition
Prior experience w/ EMR (Medicat)
Experience w/ social networking
Required Prior Work Experience
Minimum of one year prefer two in outpatient nutritional practice.
