Description: Massachusetts Institute of Technology is currently seeking to employ Veterinary Technician right now, this position will be placed in Massachusetts. VETERINARIAN TECHNICIAN, Division of Comparative Medicine (DCM) (2 openings), to provide clinical veterinary support and technical expertise fo! r transgenic animals. Will collect specimens for surveillance testing; provide clinical treatments and colony management services such as tailing, weaning, and genetic assessment; and provide technical assistance and nursing support in the operating room and assistance with anesthesia and surgical preparation.
REQUIREMENTS: an undergraduate degree in animal science, biology, or related field; excellent interpersonal skills; strong organizational skills; animal handling experience; and familiarity with PCR and other molecular-based genetic assessment techniques. Experience with anesthesia administration and pre- and postoperative animal care a plus. AALAS certification preferred. Training will be provided. MIT-00009681
